Skies will light up over Prince County Hospital

Annual event takes place Wednesday evening

SUMMERSIDE — The 19th Lights for Life ceremony is set to light up the sky over Prince County Hospital Wednesday evening.

Wednesday evening, thousands of lights will be lit in memory of a loved one. All proceeds go toward purchasing equipment for Prince County Hospital.

The annual holiday lighting ceremony takes place at 6:30 p.m.

Each year, light displays are dedicated in memory of a loved one, with all proceeds from the donations going toward equipment for the hospital.

The lighting ceremony is choreographed to music and is preceded by a performance from the Prince County Hospital staff choir, along with hot chocolate, cider and cookies for spectators. 

Parking is available at Wal-Mart and Superstore, while handicap spaces near the hospital will be made available beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Presented by the Credit Unions of Prince County, Lights for Life has raised more than $2.2 Million for the hospital foundation since its inception.

Gifts can be made until Dec. 31 at the PCH Foundation office in the hospital, online at or by calling 432-2547. 

Items of note for the Lights for Life ceremony:

—   General parking is at Wal-mart and Superstore. 

—   Disability parking is available, with 50 spaces reserved in the main PCH parking lot.

—   Shuttle Service is available for those unable to walk to PCH from the Superstore/Wal-mart, beginning at 5:45 p.m.

—   The PCH Staff Choir entertains from 6:15 to 6:30 and hot Chocolate, cider and cookies available after 6.

—   Lights for Life dedication books will be distributed on site.
