CORNWALL — A fire last week that extensively damaged a house in Cornwall was caused by a malfunction in an electrical extension cord.
The fire occurred last Tuesday in a home where six people lived.
Fire damage was contained to the basement, with heat and smoke damage throughout.
North River fire department responded to the blaze.
Deputy fire marshal Robert Arsenault, as a result of his investigation, has ruled the fire as accidental, with the origin in a downstairs rec room.
