According to the police, at about 4:30 p.m., on Oct. 15, an elderly woman had just exited a local grocery store and was in the process of putting her groceries in her car, when a man approached her.
He offered to help her, but when she turned down the offer he grabbed her purse and ran away.
Another man, who was walking nearby, saw what happened and chased the thief, causing him to drop the purse.
