MIMINEGASH — Starting Wednesday, the Miminegash Bridge will be closed to traffic.
The closure, which changed from a previously-announced date, is part of the ongoing bridge replacement project.
The advisory is among several that were issued Tuesday by the Department of Transportation.
Motorists are also advised that on Route 9, Elmwood, construction is underway on the Colville Road for a distance of 1,300 metres south of the Wynn Road intersection. Minor delays can be expected.
On Route 141, there is a weight restriction is in place on Dunblane
Bridge. The maximum gross weight is 5,500 kilograms, with a 4,500-kg maximum axle weight.
Now completed is the Kentyre Road bridge replacement in North Winsloe.
In Queens County, as part of the Trans-Canada Highway realignment in Encounter Creek, traffic is being temporarily detoured in both directions around the excavation site where the existing highway crosses the realignment.
Two-way traffic will be maintained, and the speed limit through work zones remains 60-kilometres-per-hour.
On Route 1 in Desable there is construction from the Desable Bridge to Route 19. Minor delays are to be expected.
On Route 13, Crapaud, the road is closed west of Hall’s Lane. There is a revised detour in place on Route 231 and Balaklava Road.
In Charlottetown, work is ongoing on the combined sewer separation projection on Trafalgar Street between Kirkwood Drive and Nassau Street. Local detours are in place.
And, for those travelling to Kings County, work continues on the replacement of the Marie Bridge on Route 2. Two-way one-lane traffic will be maintained, and stop-and-go lights and signage will be directing motorists.
