SUMMERSIDE – City police were called out over the weekend to investigate two reported assaults, a break and enter into a residence and a theft from a local store.
On Saturday, just after midnight, two teenage males reported to police that they were physically assaulted on Brophy Street while walking home.
Police are looking for two other teenage males in relation to the assault. Assault charges are pending. Police said the victims knew their assailants.
Police arrested a 22-year-old Summerside woman for assault following a domestic complaint at a Jennifer Street residence, early Monday morning.
The woman will be facing assault charges at a future court appearance in provincial court.
A-38-year-old Summerside woman was arrested Saturday after she ran out of a local retail outlet on Granville street with merchandise she did not pay for. She will be appearing in provincial court on theft charges at a later date.
Police are investigating complaints of two men failing to show up for weekend sentences at Prince County Jail.
One, a 45-year-old Summerside man, failed to show up on Friday and the other, a 36-year-old Lennox Island man, failed to show up on Saturday. Both men will be facing criminal charges of being unlawfully at large.
Police received a report of a break and enter into a residence on McQuaid Court Sunday evening. The owners were away and the break was discovered by a relative. A quantity of cash was taken from the home. Entry was gained by forcing a rear door.
