SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside waterfront is a little leafier today thanks to the hard work of some local volunteers and some cash from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
About 25 volunteers came out on a beautiful Saturday morning to help out with TD Tree Days in Summerside. They helped plant 250 trees along the Summerside Waterfront Boardwalk. Colin MacLean/Journal Pioneer
Saturday was TD Tree Days in Summerside, a now annual event where hundreds of trees are planted in the community.
This year’s planting included a little more than 250 trees of local genetic stock, planted along the Summerside Waterfront Boardwalk.
Over the past several years there has been about 1,000 seedlings planted along that stretch of waterfront.
