The 2013 recipients of the Order of Prince Edward Island will be honoured at a special investiture ceremony at Government House on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.
Chancellor of the Order, Frank Lewis, lieutenant governor, will confer the honour on Vera Elizabeth Dewar of Stratford, Alexander B. Campbell of Stanley Bridge, and Dr. Joyce Madigane of Bideford.
These three individuals were selected from a total of 46 Islanders nominated to receive the award this year.
The honour is awarded annually to recognize those Islanders who have shown individual excellence or demonstrated outstanding leadership in their community and in their chosen occupation or profession.
It is the highest honour that can be accorded a citizen of the province and is facilitated through a public nomination process.
