SUMMERSIDE – Prince Edward Islanders gave their all Wednesday morning for Raise-a-Reader Day.
As residents went for their morning coffee they were greeted by employees of the Journal Pioneer and The Guardian, along with many local officials and personalities, who were out hawking newspapers.
The papers were exchanged for donations.
Postmedia Raise-a-Reader is a national campaign that promotes reading to children at an early age, setting the groundwork for a lifetime of literacy skills and a healthy interest in reading.
