SEA VIEW – Funding was announced for four Island community projects Monday morning.
The money is coming from both federal and provincial sources.
Gail Shea, federal fisheries minister and Ron MacKinley, provincial rural development minister, made the announcement at the Sea View community hall, which is one of the facilities slated for funding.
The following is a list of projects and their share of the announced $190,610; for the full story, pick up a copy of Tuesday’s Journal Pioneer:
– The Community of Malpeque Bay will receive $37,217 from the federal government and $29,800 from the province. The money will be used to improve the Sea View community hall.
– The Sterling Women’s Institute is getting $23,000 from the federal government and $18,200 from the provincial government. The funds will be used to improve the Staley Bridge Hall.
– Crapaud is getting $50,000 from the federal government and $27,000 from the province. The money will be used to help renovate and add on to the Crapaud Fire Hall.
– Kinkora is getting $3,909 from the federal government and $1,610 from the province to improve the Kinkora Place and fence the local ball field.
