There were no injuries when an early Monday morning fire destroyed a two-car garage and caused damage to the attic area of a house on Wharburton Drive off North River Road.
The only person living in the house was not at home at the time of the fire that was called in by a neighbour.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire department and Charlottetown Police Services, Winston Bryan, fire investigator of the City of Charlottetown, said in an interview at the scene.
He said the fire was contained to the garage that is located on the front side of the home and is attached to the house, but there was some fire damage in the attic area and some damage from heat to neighbouring houses. Bryan said right now the house uninhabitable.
