The long list of congratulatory messages Maude MacDonald received on the occasion of her 100th birthday included one from the Queen. A party and an afternoon of music was recently thrown for MacDonald at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home where she is a resident.

O’LEARY -- Maude MacDonald plays down her card-playing ability, but her friends claim she holds good cards. Recently, however, it’s been birthday cards that she has been holding, lots and lots of them.
MacDonald celebrated her 100th birthday on September 6 in the presence of family and friends and fellow residents of the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home.
Maude Annie Phillips was born and raised in Knutsford. She married Edward MacDonald in 1942. He passed away in 1979. They lived on a farm in West Cape until they moved to O’Leary in 1952. Her husband boarded out while working in Summerside during the winter months, and she took care of the children and took in boarders in O’Leary. Her
She also helped out on farms in her early years.
The MacDonald family of Marvin, Clare, Carol, Sandra, Linda and Barry has grown to include 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
