ABRAM-VILLAGE – Musical entertainment will be aplenty at the Exposition agricole et le Festival acadien this weekend, as musicians come from all over the Maritimes to rock Abram-Village.
On Friday afternoon, August 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the Evangeline Recreation Centre, young artists will showcase their talents at the Provincial Youth Talent Show. The competition, organized by the PEI Association of Exhibitions, gathers all the contest winners of the local youth talent contests in the province for the final competition.
On Friday night, at the Expo-Festival Centre, at 8:30 p.m., there will be a Music Jam. This activity is an open kitchen party for any musician who wants to share music, either as a soloist or in a group.
Friday evening, festival attendees can dance to the music of Scott and Gerald Delhunty at the Djâble dans l’corps dance at the Evangeline Recreation Centre. The southeastern New Brunswick country duo have performed more than 3000 shows around the world since the 1980s. The show gets underway at 10 p.m.
Saturday afternoon, members of La Famille Arsenault will take the stage at the Evangeline Recreation Centre. The group of seven musicians offer up original Acadian songs, traditional tunes, step-dancing and humour.
After an afternoon of music, the Evangeline and Gabriel dance will close out the night, with Reveil taking the stage at the rec centre. The concert will get underway at 10 p.m.
