Perhaps one reason why the Seniors’ Expo, held annually at the Rodd Mill River Resort, is so popular is because of the fun the organizers have in planning the event. Helping to plan the 24th expo for Tuesday, June 4 are, standing from left, Shirley Murphy, co-chair; Priscilla Domingue, Theresa Doucette, Jean Balsom and, at the keys, Katherine Boulter. Music, comedy, fun, food and door prizes are all part of he event.

MILL RIVER -- The 24th annual Seniors’ Expo might still be two months away, but organizers are reminding interested participants not to wait until the last minute to confirm their attendance.

Tickets to the June 4 event at the Rodd Mill River Resort went on sale April 2. The event sells out annually.

Tickets are available in the Tyne Valley area from Jean Balsom Priscilla Domingue; in the O’Leary area from Wanda Adams, Katherine Boulter and John and Jean Hagen; Alberton area from Phyllis Porter and Cletus Dunn and in the Tignish-St Louis areas from Theresa Doucette and Shirley Murphy.

Major sponsors are the Tignish and Evangeline-Central Credit Unions. Other sponsors are the funeral homes and pharmacies of West Prince.

With 2013 being the International Year of Water Cooperation, organizers have adopted that as the theme for this year’s expo so as to remind participants that water is global, and each person has responsibilities for sound water management practices.

The June 4 program, which starts at 1 p.m. and runs until 6:30 p.m., is filled with music, comedy, fun, food and door prizes. The guest speaker is Boyd Beck and there will be entertainment by “On the Road Again.

Ralph here in Borden-Carleton. Just thought I'd let you know about a famous Island fiddler....BILLY McINNES. Billy played with Stomping Tom, he played at Tom's televised funeral service, maybe you saw that on tv last year. Anyway, Billy would be available to play at your Expo in June. He would use the available accompanists you have and I know he would be a 'knock out' performer. His fee is $250. to go to Mill River. I don't know how much you people are prepared to pay out but if you're interested let me know. Ralph Borden-Carleton.....437-2012
