LENNOX ISLAND – A Lennox Island family of six lost their home in a Monday morning fire. The Provincial Fire Marshal’s office has ruled the fire accidental, believed to have been caused by a child playing with a lighter.

The fire damaged the split-entry, single-family dwelling beyond repair.

The fire call was answered by the Lennox Island Fire Department around 9:30 a.m. The Tyne Valley department was subsequently called for backup.
