TIGNISH -- Tignish has a new recreation director.

Karen Doyle replaces Kendal Hackett who took a leave of absence and subsequently resigned in favour of other employment.

Doyle started working with the municipality last week. She will be on part time until May when she completes her Sport and Leisure Management course at Holland College in Alberton.

Doyle was in attendance for Monday’s monthly meeting of Council and outlined plans for Children’s March Break activities on Friday, March 22. The day will start with a pancake breakfast at the fire hall followed by events spread throughout the community.
