TYNE VALLEY — The Tyne Valley Fire Department will be playing a benefit hockey game against Evangeline-Central Credit Union on Friday, March 15.

Tyne Valley Community Sports Center

Proceeds from the 8 p.m. contest at the Tyne Valley Community Sports Center will support the fire department with the financing of its 2013 International rescue truck.

The $225,000 truck is due to arrive this weekend and will be available for public viewing during the March 15 game.

Although admission to the game is free, donations will be accepted at the door.

The department’s old rescue truck is considered outdated and no longer safe or adequate for transporting fire department personnel or equipment to emergencies.
