EMERALD - A new bridge in Emerald has opened to traffic.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Robert Vessey said the new bridge will provide safe access to the community for residents and visitors.
“The bridge is an important structure for the Community of Emerald, and I¹m pleased we were able to complete this project in time for spring,” he said.
The $800,000 project replaces the original structure that was built in 1952.
Some final work will take place around the site for the next week but will not interrupt traffic.
The bridge was closed throughout the winter due to structural damage. Replacement of the bridge began in February.
