O’LEARY -- Information booths, and health care professionals will be set up throughout the O’Leary Health Centre on Wednesday for a Well Woman Day.
Women will be able to drop by between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to learn information important for maintain good health said primary care nurse Christine Phillips who is helping to coordinate the day.
Public Health nursing staff, mental health staff, pharmacist, physiotherapist, dietician, massage therapist, RNs and LPNs will be in attendance to share information with those attending.
Phillips said a similar event was held at the Health Centre 16 months ago with a good turnout.
While women can approach the booths and the specialists at their leisure throughout the day, appointments are necessary for any women requesting a pap test. All appointment times for pap tests are now booked for Wednesday, but Phillips said staff will be able to schedule appointments for other days during Wednesday’s visit.
Blood pressure checks, weight and height measurements for calculating body-mass index, blood glucose testing and other services can be performed during Well Woman Day.
