WOODSTOCK -- Several local business owners will participate in a panel discussion on starting ones own business during the third annual West Prince Youth Forum, Wednesday, March 13 at the Rodd Mill River Resort.

The forum, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is offered free of charge to youth and young adults ages 16 to 29, and is presented by CBDC West Prince Ventures.

Forum coordinator Cletus Dunn reminds potential participants that space is limited and the previous two forms were filled to capacity. The theme for the forum, which seeks to encourage entrepreneurism, is, “the doors are open…for you to succeed.”

Business owners taking part in the panel include Martin O’Brien, Cascumpec Bay Oyster Company; Geoffrey Irving, Regal Cresting; Donna Perry, Help; Darryl Smallman, Micro Electronics; Laura Lee Shea, Clean Cuts; Mary Ellen Rennie, Medicine Shoppe; Blain Buchanan, Blain’s Signs and Kristine DesRoches, Arbonne International.

The forum’s guest speaker will be a recent Dragon’s Den guest, Joelle MacPhee, founder and owner of OOKA Island.

During the noon luncheon, Shawn Hogan, from Mill River, who is growing his career in Toronto as a stand-up comedian, will entertain participants.

Other presenters during the day include Matt Jelley, owner of Sandspit and Shining Waters amusement parks, Jeff Squires from Cavendish Music Festival and P.E.I. Brewing Company; Ruth Grady, Northern Abrasives and Harvey Stewart, Trout River Industries.

Everyone who registers for the forum will be entered in a draw for a chance to win an Ipad.

To register for the free forum visit www.westprince youthforum.com or call Dunn at 853-3636.
