SUMMERSIDE – Summerside city police have charged a 23-year-old Summerside man with theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that the individual left the MacArthur's Esso on Granville Street, Tuesday, without paying for $47 worth of gas. He was apprehended later in the day and will be appearing in Summerside provincial court at a later date.

Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Central Street at the Pope Road intersection, Tuesday. Damage was estimated in access of $2,000. There were no injuries reported.

When I bought gas there today, the gas station on Granville Street was an Esso. The MacArthur's on Water Street was a Wilson's.

If they put MacArthur's Esso on the police report, I'm sure he'll get off scott free. Plus, theft under $5000 for $47 worth of gas? I would have grabbed some smokes. a few car washes and some chips too.

Please read and understand before commenting . Mac Arthur's Esso is in fact on Granville Street. Wilson's (formerly Mac Arthur's) is on Water Street. Now go apply for jobs as required by your EI requirements .
