Montague – Kings District RCMP suspect three teenagers may have been responsible for the deaths of a group of seals found dead on an Island beach in late January.

RCMP, along with officers from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, conducted a search Friday, Feb. 15, resulting in the seizure of items they allege are connected to the deaths of the seals.

Three males, ages 15, 17, and 18, all from Kings County, were detained and released into the custody of their parents pending a court date of April 11.

Charges have yet to be laid against the three, however, police said they will face charges of causing unnecessary suffering to animals.
