Island RCMP are warning motorists again today to stay off provincial roads, as whiteout conditions are persisting.

The Confederation Bridge has placed restrictions on high sided vehicles.

The City of Summerside sent out its plows at 9 a.m. Sunday morning and will be focusing on the following streets on their first run: Harvard, Notre Dame, South Drive, MacEwen Road, Granville and Duke Streets.

City salt trucks will be dispatched this afternoon.

Main street sidewalks will also start to be cleared Sunday afternoon, though the city is warning that sidewalk clearing could take several days.

Plows will make a second run through the city at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Credit Union Place in Summerside will open today, however, swimming lessons and the MHL game scheduled for today are canceled.
