Visibility on Prince County roads was described as “fair to poor” late Monday morning, and the situation is expected to worsen as the wind picks up and blows the loose snow around.
“We’re getting some heavy drifting,” reported Prince County plow dispatcher Joe Richard. He agreed it is not a good day to be on the roads.
The RCMP has issued an advisory, urging motorists to stay off all Island roads until conditions improve.
Plows, salters and sanders are still out and will likely remain out as long as visibility is okay, Richard said.
Practically all schools across the Island, including Holland College, UPEI, and the schools in the French and English School boards are closed for the day, and many government services and some businesses have remained closed.
The Confederation Bridge has put restrictions in place prohibiting high-sided vehicles from crossing until the wind tapers off.

So, It looks like someone is trying to get the public all upset, AGAIN! As someone who really does work in the system, I can assure you that my day was spent preparing for the learning that will happen when I return to school tomorrow. If you are a dedicated teacher, there are always many hours of work that can be done to make learning interesting and challenging for students. "Mr. Teacher"....give me a break!
