Island RCMP are advising motorists that all island roads are very treacherous with the freezing rain that has been coming down. Roads are being described as a sheet of ice, and the RCMP are asking drivers to stay off all Island roads until further notice.
There have been multi-vehicle pile-ups in a few locations in East Prince, including the Middleton area, a vehicle roll-over at Read's Corner in Summerside and accidents on Pope Road in Summerside.
RCMP are asking the traveling public to adjust their driving habits to the current road conditions.
Drivers are asked to reduce speeds, leave sufficient space between their vehicle and those around them and if you have to get out of your vehicle, to put on your emergency lights and park off the road as much as possible.

Hey Don, Not sure if you were aware or not. The Journal and the Guardian are both owned by TC Transcontinental, and are sister papers that share all of their content over a shared news wire. The only difference between this story and the Guardians, is that the Guardians includes updates on the City of Charlottetown specifically, and the upcoming weather forcasts. If your that lazy that you can't go to the weather office site but have time to comment pointlessly, then maybe you should reconsider how you use your internet time. Besides, cut the Journal a break, their entire office was destroyed five days ago, your lucky they're even bothering with online content for jerks like you to comment on.
