The February issue of Canadian Living Magazine will certainly have a P.E.I. flavour. Anne of Green Gables Chocolates is included in the magazine’s article featuring Canada’s Best Chocolate.

“I was thrilled to see us mentioned among the top chocolatiers of Canada when I received my issue in the mail!” says Natasha McCarthy, general manager for Anne of Green Gables Chocolates.

Canadian Living boasts that it is the ultimate food & women’s lifestyle resource Magazine. The popular magazine ranked #4 the first half of 2012 at a circulation of 511,814.

“We work hard to offer a quality product made with premium ingredients by hand so it’s wonderful to know so many people are enjoying our chocolate and impressed that so many of the magazine’s readers nationwide would have voted for us. It’s a true honour,” says McCarthy.

Anne of Green Gables Chocolates has been in business since 1999 originally having its kitchen at Avonlea Village in Cavendish. In 2012 they moved to a new manufacturing facility beside the Cows creamery in North River with a new store added to the front, complete with a viewing area of production. The facility was built to accommodate the company’s growth in recent years and enable future growth.

The organization currently has another small manufacturing facility that makes their famous Cow Chips, which are fresh potato chips smothered in milk chocolate. You can watch them being made inside their Queen St. retail store in Charlottetown as well as two other retail locations at the Cavendish Boardwalk and Avonlea Village. Customers can also enjoy their chocolates in Borden-Carleton at the Cows retail store.

Cows Inc. offers online shopping for both Cows and Anne of Green Gables Chocolates on their websites: www.annechocolates.com and www.cows.ca.

I know they are good but I have friends who make better. Just homemade out of their kitchen as gifts once or twice a year. And Anne of Green Gables products - prices are up for the name. Just saying. But that is like everything on PEI when I visit there every year.
