This was the Storm’s second annual New Year’s Eve game and the new Montreal team’s first ever visit to P.E.I.

Brandon Robinson led the way for the Storm with 22 points while Greg Plummer scored 17. J.R. Harrison was the top point getter for the Jazz with 20 points.

For the third time ever, the Storm had three players with double-doubles Monday night. Omari Johnson recorded his third double-double in three games with the Storm. He now has 15 career double-doubles to tie for third in NBL career double-doubles with Ralphy Holmes (who played two games with Summerside). Gabe Freeman of London leads with 31 double-doubles and Mike Williams of the Storm is second with 18. Brandon Hassell and Al Stewart were the other two players to record doubles Monday night. It was Hassell’s fourth of the season while Stewart recorded his second of the season and ninth of his career which puts him in ninth place in NBL history.

After the win, the Storm’s 2012-13 record now stands at 11-9 which puts them in a tie with the St. John Mill Rats for first in the Atlantic Division.

The Storm record at home goes to 7-3.  Last year the home record was 6-12.

The Storm has now scored over 100 points in nine straight games, a team record. They have scored over 100 points in 13 games this season.

The Storm out-rebounded the Jazz 65-50 and have out-rebounded the opposition in 17 of their 20 games this season.

The home team registered a team-record 36 assists in Tuesday’s game.

Johnny Dugay of Kinkora won the 50-50, taking home half of $5,358. Tim Hockins won the Fly PEI/Travel Store Shoot to Win and has his name entered in the draw for a trip for two to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, during March Break. The Storm’s win meant that everyone at the game with a ticket won a free car wash from Wilsons Fuels on Water St. in Summerside. Also, because the Storm won and scored over 10 points, everyone in Section H won a slice of pizza from Greco Pizza.
