KENSINGTON – Kensington police are investigating a complaint received from a Grade 12 student regarding a Kensington Intermediate and Senior High School staff member.

Police Chief Lewie Sutherland said an investigation has been ongoing since the day of the female student’s complaint and no further comments will be made until the investigation is completed.

Messages left with school board officials have not been returned.

Education Minister Alan McIsaac said it is an issue the Western School Board has been dealing with and the department has been in contact with superintendent Jane McMillan.

“She just wanted to keep us abreast of what was happening and they are looking into it and dealing with the issue,” he said.

McIsaac wouldn’t discuss the nature of the complaint but said the staff member is on leave.

The is incredibly vague, presenting nothing of major significance. I do not understand how this is news. Would we not usually classify such stories as gossip? With no facts presented other than the police having to investigate a complaint ( which could be for anything) I am very confused by the "journalism" here.
