SUMMERSIDE – Prince County residents again displayed their generosity toward the Kin Family Christmas Appeal, donating between $10,000 and $12,000 to the 63rd annual fundraiser.

All proceeds and items collected through Monday night’s event, which was televised on Eastlink’s channel 10, are used for the Kinsmen and Kinettes’ Christmas hampers for local families in need.

“It’s just unreal, the generosity of the people and the businesses that help us out,” said the appeal’s co-chair Eric Ferrish.

“We really appreciate the people calling in their donations and the (Summerside) Storm giving away free tickets. Eastlink TV are really community minded… so really appreciative of Eastlink and the excellent quality talent we had this year.”

Last year, the Kin Appeal delivered more than 180 hampers, and Ferrish estimated that number would be approximately the same this Christmas.

The group is still accepting donations from the public. Contact Ferrish at 436-9608.

CONGRATULATIONS to all Kin and the public for their contributions to the Kin Christmas Appeal. Effie and I have been in Halifax for the last two weeks and therefore missed the appeal. Keep up the good work. Aurele & Effie Arsenault
