Man collapses at CUP rink

SUMMERSIDE – A 65-year-old man was rushed to hospital on Thursday after collapsing while skating at the Credit Union Place ice surface.

The city issued a news release saying the incident occurred shortly after 12 noon, and that 911 was contacted immediately.

First aid was administered until Island EMS paramedics arrived at the scene. The man was taken by ambulance to Prince County Hospital.

Neither the city nor the hospital could confirm the man’s condition, and his name is not being released at this time.
