Fire burns field near TOSH

Members of the Summerside Fire Department were busy knocking down a fire earlier Nov. 26, that ignited a field close to Three Oaks Senior High School.

SUMMERSIDE — Members of the Summerside Fire Department were busy knocking down a fire earlier this afternoon that ignited a field close to Three Oaks Senior High School.

The fire call came just after 3 p.m. when school had just finished for the day. It spread through the field between the Shur-Gain property and TOSH's sports field.

Winds were high at the time and several firefighters could be seen beating down small patches of fire with shovels.

With no hydrants in the area, water had to be trucked in.

The cause is not yet known.
