The Christmas parade begins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26.
This year’s parade route begins at County Fair Mall with floats leaving Granville Street and travelling south to the downtown area.
The parade will turn right onto Water Street where Santa stops for a meet and greet with children in front of the Scotiabank building, where the parade ends.
Santa will be outside Scotiabank until 9 p.m. and a number of downtown shops will be open to the public with extended shopping hours and special discounts. Some downtown spectators will receive a “Christmas Card” coupon book entitling them to special offers at downtown shopping establishments.
In addition there will be a host of children’s activities, giveaways and festivities taking place on Water Street between Central and Granville Streets from 6 to 9 p.m. Children’s activities on Water St. include a balloon twister, face painters, and inflatable toys.
