Ellerslie man charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking

ELLERSLIE-BIDEFORD – Police have arrested a 59-year-old Prince County man following a search of his home on Tuesday.

Members of the Prince District JFO Drug Unit and Criminal Intelligence Services searched the home on the Harts Gravel Road in Ellerslie-Bideford.

Police seized 14 six-milligram hydromorphone capsules along with some cash and a cell phone.

The man was released and will be summonsed to appear in Summerside provincial court at a later date to face a charge of possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking. 

The JFO Drug Unit is comprised of officers from Summerside Police Services and the East and West Prince RCMP detachments. They are responsible for drug investigations within the Prince District and Summerside city areas.

    Perhaps that was all he was caught with, this time. Maybe he just finished selling off the rest?Is he known as a dealer?Release his name!I don't care what amount lowlifes like this are caught with as long as they get caught .These are the same lowlifes who sell pills to our children and make them addicts. Parents would be shocked if they knew how many kids are crushing pills and snorting them. Maybe they need search warrants and search any property he may own or his friends too. He is just one link in the chain. I personally thank the police, job well done.

    14 pills is possession with intent to traffic? seems to me any reasonable person could think that just for personal use, how many pills could you even get from a prescription? unless they have him actually selling to a narc or something reghardless it seems like a pretty small result. If he doens't just plead guilty I can see this just being a waste of time and money
