Well, this is the group’s fourth year of putting together a fall comedy show at the Alberton Arts and Heritage Centre. It’s just that they didn’t have a name for their group until now.
This year the 25-member cast is getting set to present “The Pressure is On” this Wednesday and Thursday. The show consists of a four-act play by the same name, along with skits, songs and dancing.
The play incorporates two traditionally pressure-filled situations – preparing for the end-of-year school finals and getting ready for prom. The students encounter many distractions and attractions along the way, director Vaunda Richard explains.
While the whole idea of the annual performances is to raise needed funds for the venue where the play is being staged, Richard said the large cast enthusiastically looks forward to the opportunity to get together to rehearse and perform.
“We just have a lot of fun,” she revealed.
Several members of The Rib-Tickling Ways got together to develop lines for this year’s presentation.
Shows the past three years were sell-outs, and Richard is hoping that will be the case again this year. Tickets to the Nov. 14 and 15 7 p.m. performances can be purchased in advance from Saunders Variety in Alberton.
