Islander Alanna MacNevin, who is volunteering in Peru, decided she would organize a run in Lima, Peru, the same day her family is running in the Island Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 14.

Souris native, MacNevin is working as an IT specialist with a Peruvian youth organization.

Her parents in Souris have signed up with the CUSO team for the Island event. Her mother, Peggy MacNevin stated, “We are proud of Alanna and we want to support CUSO's overseas development work.”

Proceeds raised by the CUSO Team in the Island Marathon will support the international volunteer program at CUSO.
