Two men charged with assault

SUMMERSIDE — Two men from out of province are facing charges in connection with an alleged assault in the city over the weekend.

Gaetain Boudreau, 28, of Edmonton, Alta., is charged with assault with a weapon while 33-year-old Martin Denis Savoie of Grande Digue, N.B., is charged with assault following an incident Sunday on Hawthorne Avenue.

At around 6 a.m. police responded to a disturbance at the city home.

The victim is a 17-year-old Summerside woman.

A justice of the peace released both men pending court appearances in Summerside provincial court later in the year.
