SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Storm has joined the Bring Bobbi-Jo Home campaign with a special Islander Day promotion.

Through the support of Storm co-owners Duncan Shaw and Darren MacKay, Prince Edward Island’s professional basketball team has donated 1,000 tickets for their Islander Day game at Credit Union Place to the Bring Bobbi-Jo Home campaign.

The Storm is hosting the Quebec Kebs on Monday, Feb. 20 (Islander Day) at 2 p.m.

The Bring Bobbi-Jo Home campaign is looking to build a special needs home in Tignish for Bobbi-Jo LeClair and her family. Bobbi-Jo was seriously injured in an October 2010 car crash and is currently in a Fredericton, N.B., rehab centre.

The 1,000 tickets for “Islanders Helping Islanders” are being sold at West Prince credit unions in Tignish, Alberton, O’Leary, Tyne Valley and Wellington for $5 each, which is one-half their normal retail value. The team has announced 100 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of the 1,000 donated tickets will go directly to the Bring Bobbi-Jo Home campaign.

Good for them. It's nice to see a professional sports organization take an interest in what's happening locally. It is a very kind gesture and very much appreciated. - Go Storm Go
