Freezing rain and poor road conditions have resulted in a one-hour delay this morning for the Westisle family of schools.

The delay also affects the French school in Deblois.

No other P.E.I. schools are affected by delays today.

While most of eastern and central P.E.I. was above freezing with light rain showers at daybreak, West Prince was still below zero.

That resulted in light freezing rain or slushy roads from a 5-cm. snowfall overnight Tuesday.

Temperatures are continuing to rise this morning and no further delays are expected for the Westisle family of schools.

At 8 a.m., the temperature was still just 0 C at North Cape while it was 3 C in Charlottetown, Summerside and East Point.
