Tropical Storm Earl has reached P.E.I. Islanders began to feel the effects of the storm around 2 p.m. At 5 p.m. Islanders are experiencing what is believed to be the eye of the storm.

The tropical storm warning has been narrowed to the eastern portion of the Island from Victoria to Lower Darnley.

The National Hurricane Centre is reporting that Tropical Storm Earl has continued to increase its forward speed to about 65 km/hr. Maximum sustained winds have surpassed 100 km/hr on P.E.I. 

The tropical storm is expected to produce about five inches of isolated rainfall.

Earl is expected to become extratropical tonight.
