Charlottetown – The PEI Humane Society located at 309 Sherwood Rd., Charlottetown, will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 2, due to hot weather conditions.

“The society does not have an air conditioning system to keep the building cool” explains Shelter Manager Beckie MacLean.  “It’s important that when temperatures are this high, we keep the animals comfortable and relaxed. The best way to do this is by minimizing visitors.”

The PEI Humane Society would like to remind everyone that pets should not be left in vehicles or outside in extreme heat and that they have access to fresh, clean water at all times.
