CHARLOTTETOWN - A 26-year-old North Milton man is facing charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography following a police search carried out Wednesday.
The warrant was executed at a North Milton residence by Charlottetown Police Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Atlantic Integrated Technical Crime Unit.
As a result of this search, computer components were seized, said Const. Randy Currie, the lead investigator with the Major Crime Unit of the Charlottetown Police Service.
Currie said a significant amount of material was seized. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court for plea on December 21.
As the information for the charges have not yet been laid, the man's identity cannot be released, said Currie.
The investigation into the child pornography probe is continuing, said Currie.
City police initiated the investigation which eventually involved RCMP and other agencies.
