CHATHAM, Ont. - A toothbrush may be a perfectly reasonable addition to any emergency kit, but police in Chatham, Ont., would like to remind you that it probably isn't a reason to call 911.
The southwestern Ontario police force has just released its annual list of the 12 most ridiculous calls it received in 2012.
Heading the list was a call from a 20-year-old complaining that his dad was trying to force him to brush his teeth against his will.
Second place went to a call about a supposed attack from a malevolant duck who turned out not to exist.
Police say the third most absurd call came from a woman who tried to get officers to persuade her drug dealer to stop adding hallucinogens to her crack supply.
Other highlights included reports about suspicious-looking squirrels, complaints about inaccurate weather reports and the theft of a Tim Horton's prize of a free coffee and donut.
