Bringing drugs to jail nets woman 3 years behind bars

A 30-year-old Summerside woman has been sentenced to three years in a federal correctional centre on drug charges.

Prince County Court House, Summerside

Joanne Leslie Doucette was sentenced today in provincial court to serve three years for possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking.

She was sentenced to a further three years for possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking.

A second charge of possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking also brought a sentence of three years.

All three sentences  will be served concurrently.

Two of the three charges relate to drugs Doucette brought into the provincial correctional centre.
