Discovery Logic becomes part of Thomson Reuters health and science business

LONDON - Thomson Reuters Corp. (TSX:TRI) has bought Discovery Logic, Inc, a provider of customizable analytics solutions for scientific research, the companies annnounced Monday.
Discovery becomes part of the Thomson Healthcare and Science business, effective immediately, Thomson Reuters said. It didn't disclose financial terms.
Thomson Reuters provides information services for professionals in a number of industries, including financial services, legal services, scientific and healthcare.
Discovery brings with it ScienceWire, a customizable and proprietary software and database platform, as well as capabilities in analytics, data management and value-added services.
"It is clear that Discovery Logic's ScienceWire and analytic service will serve as the foundation for a new technical paradigm that will propel our business forward in the future," said Mike Boswood, president and chief executive of the Healthcare and Science business of Thomson Reuters.
Thomson Reuters shares traded Monday at C$33.71, down 24 cents, on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
