Tignish -

Local entertainment, a giant barbecue, children's games and many other activities will be taking place at Tignish Bicentennial Park this Sunday. It's the 10th anniversary of the IWK Festival in the Park.
All proceeds from the community-based festival will support the work of the IWK hospital in Halifax.
Activities run from 1 to 4 p.m. If the weather is unfavourable, the activities will be moved into Tignish Credit Union Arena.
Over the past nine years the festival has raised more than $25,000 for the children's hospital.
A special attraction at this year's festival will be a Chuggy Choo-Choo inflatable train. Cartoon characters will make appearances throughout the afternoon. There will also be a 50-50 draw. Staff of the Tignish Credit Union, co-ordinators of the festival, have been running the 50-50 for several weeks already so the winner's share will be in excess of $1,000.
Other activities Sunday include fish pond, basketball and hockey shootouts, colouring, balloons, face-painting and raffles for prizes like a quilt and a hotel package. Refreshments will include the Cavendish Fry Cart fries, Tim Hortons coffee, fudge, popcorn and candy apples.
Proceeds from the second annual IWK Golf Tournament at the St. Felix Golf and Country Club on July 18 will be added to the fundraising total.
