WEST DEVON - Recovery in hospital continues for the West Devon couple whose house was blown apart by a propane gas explosion on April 27.
Pearle MacNevin has been a patient in the Prince County Hospital since the day of the explosion. Her husband, Horace, is being treated in the burn unit of the Halifax Infirmary. On the day of the explosion, he was taken to Prince County Hospital by ambulance and airlifted the same day to Halifax.
Harold MacNevin said his father has had skin grafts and is showing signs of improvement. His mother is showing steady improvement and is able to move around in hospital.
"They're very thankful for all the people praying for them," he said.
The homestead was so badly damaged in the explosion that it was demolished the day after.
MacNevin described the support for all family members following the incident as enormous.
