Built around a new initiative called the "Confederation Jam," the 2014 festival program will expand one of P.E.I.'s most successful music festivals to include performances by artists from all 10 Canadian provinces.

This new program represents the Festival's commitment toward elevating programming, while creating a unique avenue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the historic 1864 Charlottetown Conference that paved the way to Confederation.

"Programming an artist from all 10 provinces can represent a unique challenge atop the already difficult task of building a festival lineup," said Mark Fisher, Festival Manager. "

In addition to a fresh, new look, the festival also has a new home for its Main Stage at the P.E.I. Brewing Company. This newly-opened venue has become a hot-spot for a variety of events and will offer festival goers an intimate, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a variety of diverse acts.

The festival will also return to St. Paul's Anglican Church in the heart of the city for its "Church Series" of shows that will feature a balance of traditional jazz, blues, and singer/songwriters.

In addition to ticketed shows there will be a free concert featuring Matt Andersen on Saturday, Aug. 16 in the P.E.I. 2014 Celebration Zone at Charlottetown's Historic Confederation Landing.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketpro.ca, by phone at 1.888.311.9090, or at Ticketpro outlets across Atlantic Canada including The Guild (111 Queen Street) and the P.E.I. Brewing Company (96 Kensington Road). For more information on Festival tickets please visit www.jazzandblues.ca or join us on Facebook/PEIJazzandBlues - or Twitter - @PEIJazzandBlues
