Dennis's grandfather, the late Albert Ellsworth was born and raised in Skinner's Pond, so Dennis's roots are in this part of the Island. That's why he says this show is exciting and rewarding for him.
In the past three years, Dennis has been recording music in Athens, Georgia, and touring both Canada and the United Kingdom. His most recent album, "Hazy Sunshine," produced by Josh Finlayson of legendary Canadian band Skydiggers, garnered three Music PEI Awards in January. "Hazy Sunshine" was recently chosen as one of the Telegraph's (London, England) top 10 highlight for the summer of 2014.
Dennis will be performing songs from his growing solo catalog, the two award winning "Haunted Hearts" albums and a preview of some new material he is scheduled to record in November.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10.
Ellsworth is the first of five singer/songwriters to perform at the Alberton pub over the next five Sundays. Red Moon Road Trio from Manitoba will be on stage Aug. 3, Matthew Hornell of Newfoundland will perform Aug. 10, and Micheal Biggar from New Brunswick will be there Aug. 17. All of these shows run from 7 to 10 p.m.
Wrapping up the Sunday night series will be P.E.I.'s own Meaghan Blanchard on Aug. 24 who will perform from 8 to 10 p.m.
Tickets for each show is $10 or for those who want to purchase tickets for all five shows, they can get five tickets for $40. The Albert & Crown is located at 480 Main St.
