POOLES CORNER – One of the annual highlights of the Close to the Ground concert series hosted by Fiddlers’ Sons is having P.E.I. fiddling master, Richard Wood, on their stage at the Kaylee Hall in Pooles Corner. This Thursday, July 24, at 8 p.m., the talented and entertaining Wood will kick things into high gear with his musical prowess.

Richard Wood to launch CD Thursday

From Carnegie Hall to Cardigan Hall, from queens to emperors to Canadian troupes in Afghanistan, Wood has entertained around the world. With over 30 years of playing fiddle, piano and step-dancing to his credit, he always enjoys being able to perform in P.E.I. during the summer. From his weekly Saturday show in Stanley Bridge to concerts such as Close to the Ground, Wood is thankful to be able to showcase his music to a worldwide audience from the comfort of home.

The air-conditioned Kaylee Hall is located at the intersections of routes 3 and 4 just outside of Montague. All ages are welcome with admission by cash only at the door with canteen service, a 50/50 draw and the musician’s recordings for sale each night. Close to the Ground runs every Thursday until the end of September.
