MOUNT STEWART – There’s something special that happens when family members sing together. Ennis, two sisters from St. John’s, N.L., prove this with each performance of their flawless harmonies laid over music that is true to their Newfoundland musical roots.

Sisters Maureen and Karen Ennis, along with fellow musician Mark Murphy, are Ennis. The trio will be performing at Harmony Hosue Theatre Friday.

The Newfoundland folk duo, Ennis, is performing at the Trailside Café, 109 Main St., Mount Stewart, on Friday, July 18.

They draw on traditional maritime influences but also infuse contemporary elements into their music with a passion that comes out in each note.

Ennis, and their earlier incarnation, the Ennis Sisters, has received a lot of acclaim including a Juno award, SOCAN award, and multiple ECMA and Music NL awards. Most recently they were named MusicNL's 2014 Group of the Year and also picked up the award for Album of the Year (“The Fortunate Ones”).

From Canada to the Middle East, Scandinavia, United Kingdom, and throughout the United States, Ennis has gained a well-earned reputation for their engaging live performances.

Tickets for the Trailside Café concert are $25. For more information call (902) 394-3626 or email info@trailside.ca.
