The Canadian country music icon’s latest project, aptly named “Country Classics,” will feature chart-topping traditional country hits as well as signature Baker tunes.
Harbourfront Theatre manager, Kieran Keller, says theatre staff are excited about the announcement.
“Our box office has been taking a waiting list ever since the first performance sold out,” says Keller, “and it’s great to be able to call those folks and tell them they won’t be disappointed.
“Ms. Baker is certainly a fan favourite for a large contingent of our customer base, and we are thrilled to have her do an additional show with us.”
Baker received the Juno Award for Country Female Vocalist of the Year five times, including 1977 through 1979. She had her own series on CBC television in the summer of 1983 and frequently appeared on “The Tommy Hunter Show.” She was also the first Canadian entertainer ever to do a TV special from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.
Tickets for the May 3 performance are on sale at the box office and harbourfronttheatre.com.
